Guardiola: This title was the most difficult

Manchester City manager Joseph Guardiola believes that this title is the most difficult of the three that the “citizens” won under his leadership. For the Spaniard himself, this is the ninth championship title, after he triumphed three times in La Liga and the Bundesliga with Barcelona and Bayern (Munich).

“This season and this Premier League title have nothing to do with the previous ones. This was the most difficult. We will never forget this season because of the way we won first place. I am so proud to be the manager here of this group of players. Going through this season, with all the restrictions and difficulties, and showing this perseverance is remarkable.

Every day these players fought for success and always tried to be better. They were so resilient. The same is true for all staff members who have worked tirelessly to ensure that our players are fully prepared to face the unexpected challenges and new processes they have had to face during this turbulent year.

At the beginning of each season, the Premier League title is the most important thing for us. This is a race in which you have to face your opponents every three days. Only when you were the best, week after week, can you win this race. This is a huge success.

It is important to express my great gratitude to the fans. In difficult times we could not hear the audience behind us. But we knew they were with us everywhere, and that gave us strength.

I assure them that we feel their love, appreciate it and know that we would not have achieved what we achieved without them. I hope that one day, soon, we will be able to celebrate together. “This title is for our fans, for Colin Bell and his family,” said Guardiola.
