Nike PhantomVSN II “Future DNA” Edition

With the launching of Mercurial Vapor XIII “Future DNA” edition that we show you in the previous article, today its turn to the Nike Phantom VSN to go under the treatment of the “Future DNA” pack. That will dress up this pair of boots with the colourway of the 2013 Nike Hypervenom model.

Going back to their archives, Nike celebrates a meeting of now and nostalgia with the Phantom VSN ‘Future DNA’ which look is combined between the Phantom VSN II design and the OG Hypervenom colourway which was launched and worn by Neymar in 2013 before the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

Back in the past when Hypervenom was introduced into the world stage, the boots vision had this iconic orange and black colourway with a skull and crossbones graphic that symbolised the attacking and deadliest on-pitch style to defenders.

The Phantom VSN II ‘Future DNA’ recreate the spirit of its predecessor with the iconic orange and black colourway. Plus update with a texture placed where control is needed-on the instep which will improve the trapping of the ball, and also on the outside of the foot, for better dribbling and more accurate passes.

Before being replaced by the PhantomVSN series, Nike Hypervenom lasted for three generations which some people will consider for not much time. But during its reign, these boots became famous because of their super-soft Nike Skin upper and its famous Hypervenom colourway, so no wonder why Nike choose to kick off their first limited project of 2020 with that model.

Unfortunately, when all football leagues are suspended due to the COVID-19, we haven’t seen those brilliant boots in action yet. But hopefully when football seasons resume we will be able to see players such as Kevin De Bruyne and Kai Havertz wearing them on the pitch.
